Basics of the Internet
People use the internet every day. Whether it is for work, for fun, or just passing time, for most people it is a significant factor in their life. One thing is, most people do not know exactly how it all started. Some quick history for you, it started off as something called ARPAnet. It was developed in 1962, and used as a way to transmit data during the cold war with intent to still be functional in case of a nuclear attack. After some time, Stanford University found out that this would have good applications in archiving research on computer sciences and in 1984 developed the Computer Science Network (CSNET). Afterwards, a website for for archiving general science research took off, in 1985 the National Science Foundation Network (NSFNET) was developed for general science public research.
